About this Trail

The trails are rather confusing through this park so its a little hard to give any one path you'd want to take through the park. My favorite part of the park is down by the river side, where there is a sandstone cliff, water to paddle in and float sticks down.

The park is popular for walking dogs, and mountain bike riding, so this is not a particularly great place for solitude, though you can find it on some of the paths the further you go from the trailhead.

plenty of lovely wildflowers at the right time of the year

Aside from all the trails, there are various picnic areas (including one reservable area) and playing fields/courts.

Directions to Trailhead

The park is in North Austin, off I-35. The address is 12138 N. Lamar Blvd. zip code: 78753
Phone Number: 512.837.4500

Notes on Difficulty Rating

There are some steep little slopes leading down to the river, probably somewhat eroded by mountain bikers.

Austin has its share of hot and hotter weather, and thunder storms, so one should take the usual precautions in such a situation.
