About this TrailNice collection of well-maintained trails and loops nestled in the historic Sierra Nevada foothills.
Poison oak grows throughout the area, but is easily avoided.
Some exposure, but most of the trails provide plenty of shade. Regardless of shade, this area gets very hot from about mid spring through early fall.
Trailhead/parking area provides water, toilets and an emergency phone.
Trails will be muddy/slick when wet.
Directions to TrailheadFrom I-80 in Auburn, take CA Hwy 49 north (toward Nevada City) to Atwood Road.
Left on Atwood Road to Mt. Vernon Road.
Continue on Mt. Vernon Road to Mears Road.
Right on Mears Road to Mears Place.
Right on Mears Place and into park.

From the TH/parking area, you hike down into a ravine and then have to climb back out.
